Dr Maggy Maher

About

I didn’t start out trying to teach chemistry online. I started out trying to figure out why good students kept losing marks on the same three topics.

Dr. Maggy Maher teaches chemistry for IGCSE, O-Level, Combined Science and AS Edexcel — online now, but built on a decade in the classroom.

pharmacy first — chemistry always felt like the real language underneath it.

The path here

From pharmacy to the chemistry classroom

Dr. Maggy Maher holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Ain Shams University. Pharmacy is chemistry applied to something that matters immediately — and that framing is what she brought with her into teaching.

She began teaching in 2013. Over the following years she taught chemistry across nine different schools, to students sitting several different exam boards, with all the differences in specification and marking that implies.

Teaching the same syllabus to that many cohorts makes the patterns obvious. The same handful of ideas cause the same confusion every year — moles and stoichiometry, bonding, rates, organic mechanisms. The courses are built around those pressure points rather than around the order of a textbook.

Today she teaches more than 1,800 students online across 120 courses, and still answers questions herself.

Find the course for your board and year

Every course states its exam board and year up front, and every lesson is tied to a syllabus point. If you are not sure which one fits, ask — the question reaches Dr. Maggy, not a queue.
